December 3rd - hoarfrost

a covering of minute ice needles, formed from the atmosphere at night upon the ground and exposed objects when they have cooled by radiation below the dew point, and when the dew point is below the freezing point.

Utterly beautiful. Well captured.

Beautiful. I've seen hoarfrost like that in Europe, but never in Canada. In fact, the last time I saw it was on a winter visit to (an almost deserted on the day) Dachau concentration camp, which made the experience even eerier.
